Episode Overview
The Cigarette-Smoking Man assists Mulder in securing a cure for Scully and allows him to meet his biological sister, though their reunion isn’t as joyful as he hoped. In exchange, the Cigarette-Smoking Man proposes that Mulder leave the FBI to join the Syndicate, offering him power and prestige. However, Mulder refuses, choosing to uphold justice instead. Although Scully’s treatment seems successful, the Cigarette-Smoking Man finds himself confronted by adversaries and ultimately vanishes, leading others to believe he is dead.
