Episode Overview

Mulder finds himself imprisoned at the Area 51 facility, but he’s set free when it’s revealed that the flight data recorder he had taken was a counterfeit. Meanwhile, Scully has a moment of clarity, recognizing that the Mulder she’s been interacting with isn’t the genuine article. She heads back to Nevada to assist the real Mulder. At the same time, the device responsible for their body swap is quickly reverting its effects, prompting both Mulder and his doppelgänger to hurry and restore their original identities before it’s too late.
