Title: Essence (1) Plot: Mulder and Doggett team up to probe a fire that devastated a genetics laboratory, claiming the life of a doctor linked to experiments involving extraterrestrial impregnation. Their investigation leads them to Billy Miles, who has been transformed into an alien replicant following his recent abduction and is now trying to eliminate traces of the experiments. When a woman assisting Scully at home is revealed to be involved in the conspiracy, the agents, joined by Monica Reyes and Alex Krycek, realize they must safeguard Scully and her unborn child from Billy and evacuate her from the city.
