As the thrilling second season of the race comes to a close, the final three teams vie for the $1 million grand prize. Host Phil Keoghan captures the excitement, stating, "It’s an incredible finish. I stood at the finish line, anticipating the teams’ arrivals, thinking 'This is what reality TV is all about. I have no idea which team will be the first to sprint across and claim the prize.'" At that moment, the contenders still in the running are lifelong friends Chris and Alex, siblings Blake and Paige, the estranged couple Tara and Wil, and best friends Oswald and Danny. The ultimate sprint takes them through Hawaii and Alaska before concluding near Las Vegas.
