Episode Overview
The teams forge ahead in Egypt, racking up flight hours as they make their way to the Karnak Temple. Colin and Christie discover that the temple's hours diminish their substantial lead, but they still find time for some much-needed rest. The teams face a Detour option—Herd It or Haul It. The herding task involves a five-mile trek followed by rounding up sheep and goats, whereas hauling requires a three-mile journey with water carried by a slow donkey. Surprisingly, only two teams opt for hauling, which turns out to be the quicker choice. Next, in a Roadblock, one member from each team takes on the role of an archaeologist to search for scarabs. The episode concludes with an unexpected twist, presenting a first in The Amazing Race's history.
