Overview
Michael Bentine's Potty Time captivated young audiences from 1973 to 1980, blending humor and history through its unique, bearded puppets. Created by Michael Bentine and produced by Leon Thau for Thames Television, the show featured these whimsical characters enacting notable historical events, their faces hilariously concealed by facial hair, leaving only their noses visible. The puppets, designed by Bentine himself, came in two sizes and were operated by talented performers from The Barry Smith Theatre of Puppets. In 2001, the series earned a spot in Channel 4's 100 Greatest Kids' TV Shows, celebrating its enduring charm.
