During a birthday celebration for Miranda, who is now in her thirties, Carrie and her friends decide to abandon their quest for the “ideal” partner and embrace a more liberated approach to dating. Carrie finds herself entangled with the charming businessman Mr. Big. Meanwhile, Miranda begins a relationship with the sweet-natured Skipper Johnston. Charlotte has a date with Capote Duncan, but when she insists on waiting to have sex, he ends up heading to a club and ultimately spends the night with Samantha.
