Title: Life Sentence (1) Plot: The Cold Case team finds themselves in a precarious situation as they seek the assistance of a deranged serial killer known as Thomas Rice, nicknamed "the Gambler" for the playing cards he leaves at his crime scenes. Dr. Clare Delaney, the sole survivor of his attacks, is jolted into terror when a card is unexpectedly thrown at her windshield on a stormy night while she prepares for a house call. Boyd, convinced that Rice has more victims hidden away, revisits the Gambler's past crimes. He and Grace decide to enlist detective constable Amelia Silver to extract a confession from the dangerous killer.
