Episode Overview

During his brief incarceration for theft, the impressionable Malcolm Tanner develops an idolizing bond with his hardened cellmate, Ernie Callan. Once released, Tanner is thrilled when Callan decides to move in with him and his family, eager to continue his life of crime. However, Tanner's excitement quickly turns to despair when he discovers that the police are on the lookout for Callan, not just because of his illicit activities, but also because he carries a dangerous strain of smallpox.
