During the Chicago Marathon, a car crash leaves one person critically injured, putting Dr. Halstead, April, and her fourth-year medical resident brother Noah to the test as they scramble to perform a challenging procedure on-site. Meanwhile, Dr. Manning is faced with a perplexing case when a mother rushes in with her 8-year-old daughter who has suddenly lost her hearing. Dr. Choi encounters Olga, a malnourished woman, and seeks Dr. Charles' expertise to better understand her condition. At the same time, Goodwin takes steps to organize her personal life.
