Feeling overwhelmed by the pressure, Makio decides to pull away from Mieko and Eiji. Once he settles into his new apartment, he unexpectedly encounters Asato, a friend from his childhood. Concerned about Makio's well-being, Asato realizes he hasn't been looking after himself and offers to have him over for dinner.
