Episode Overview
Max is taken aback when her college roommate, Shayla, visits for her wedding and reveals that her fiancé, Chris, is actually a woman. Feeling betrayed for not being told earlier, especially since Khadijah had known all along, Max's frustration boils over at the bridal shower. This leads to a tense confrontation in the kitchen, where Shayla reveals she had romantic feelings for Max. Hurt, Max decides not to attend the wedding, believing their friendship was built on a lie. Khadijah argues that Shayla kept her feelings hidden out of fear of losing Max. Later, Max finds Shayla at a salon to apologize, acknowledging her overreaction but wishing Shayla had trusted her. Meanwhile, Kyle worries that Overton might be copying his style after sending him to his tailor.
