Episode Overview

Nash and Joe receive a tip from Tony B about a hit on Chief of Police Frank Girard, but they arrive too late to prevent tragedy; the Chief and his driver have been shot dead in his car. Heartbroken, Nash finds the scene of the attack, which involved a lone shooter in a bright red Impala that subsequently crashed into a taxi, leaving a paint sample behind. Meanwhile, Caitlin's idea has led to the SIU and the Embarcadero station sharing space in a barge, creating a chaotic environment where Joe is stuck sharing a desk with Jake Cage. Tony B is interrogated about his new venture, Bay Area Switches, which serves as a cover for laundering money to Las Vegas. His connection to the operation is Ellen Holiday, who is linked to both the Chief's assassin and Jimmy Z. Despite being arrested, Holiday remains tight-lipped.
