Episode Overview

Boone Shadler murders a guard and arrives in a beleaguered town, posing as a priest to evade capture. Newly, looking to assist those in need, rides in to help care for the ailing residents. He tends to Cyrus Himes, who is gravely ill, and suspects that contaminated water might be the cause of the sickness spreading through the community. As Newly analyzes the water for pollutants, Matt receives a telegram revealing that a sheriff released a prisoner five days prior, prompting him to question why Newly didn't return to Dodge with him. Newly grows suspicious of the priest's true identity after witnessing Shadler searching for a Bible. Shadler then confesses to Dallas Fair that he is a convict and urges her to join him.
