Matt finds himself hosting a drunken Will and his companions in the jail as they search for the $300 they believe Bill has taken. Matt suspects a mix-up but is unaware that Will is hiding the truth about Curly Wills' fate, as they buried him before arriving in Dodge. Meanwhile, Doak pays a visit to his girlfriend, insisting that marriage will have to hold off for now. As Will and Quincy depart without Doak, chaos erupts when gunfire erupts, targeting Quincy and the storekeepers.
