Anxious about the firm’s financial struggles, Fish and Cage decide to recruit a new associate, specifically a "rainmaker" capable of attracting high-paying clients. They bring on Nelle Porter, a charming litigator in her late twenties from a well-respected firm. However, on her first day, she quickly rubs Ally, Georgia, and Elaine the wrong way, while Fish and Cage are quite impressed with her. Ally represents a woman in her late thirties accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a minor and finds herself inexplicably drawn to the boy during his testimony. Meanwhile, Cage takes on the case of a woman suing a travel agency for wrongful termination, and both lawyers are taken aback by her striking appearance.
