S01E16 Countdown for Zartan
Episode Overview
Cobra kidnaps Dr. Emil Mettier, a French scientist, and Zartan takes his place just before the doctor is set to arrive at the World Wide Defense Center to help finalize their terrorism database. Spirit grows suspicious of the imposter and, during his investigation, is captured by Storm Shadow. Meanwhile, Freedom manages to escape and leads Lady Jaye, Recondo, Doc, Gung-Ho, and Stalker back to the center, where they discover Zartan's deception and a bomb he's planted. As the Joes search for the explosive, Gung-Ho traps Zartan in a cell, manipulating the countdown watch to be two minutes fast. Zartan, believing he has more time, inadvertently reveals the bomb's location just in time for it to be disarmed. Although Zartan escapes, Spirit and the real Dr. Mettier are rescued from certain doom by Storm Shadow. Cobra makes one last desperate attack, but the Joes successfully fend them off, restoring
