Hamish Macbeth (1995)
S03E02 Deferred Sentence
Episode Overview
While vacationing solo on the island of Laggan-Laggan, Hamish finds himself entangled in a two-decade-old enigma that has divided the locals. The islanders seem to avoid his hosts, Father McPhail, a Catholic priest, and his Protestant rival, Enoch McDuff. To steer clear of their religious tensions, Hamish claims to be Jewish. He becomes captivated by Laura McDuff's claims regarding the suspicious death of her mother years earlier. However, is Hamish's fascination merely that of a detective suspecting wrongdoing, or is there something deeper at play?
