I Love Lucy (1951)

Episode Overview

Title: Fred and Ethel's Dispute Plot: Fred and Ethel have been at odds with each other for several days, and communication has completely broken down. (Fred: She insulted my mother!) In an attempt to mend their friendship, Lucy devises a scheme: she will invite Ethel over for dinner while Ricky invites Fred, keeping each of them unaware of the other's presence. Lucy hopes this will encourage the Mertzes to resolve their differences. However, as dinner unfolds, Lucy and Ricky begin to argue. By the end of the evening, the Mertzes leave the Ricardos' feeling joyful, while Lucy and Ricky find themselves in a quarrel. Now, it’s up to Fred and Ethel to help reconcile their friends.
