After the death of his brother, Maurice confronts his own mortality and chooses to name Chris as the new Minnifield heir, a role that Chris struggles to accept. Meanwhile, Shelly joins Holling on a quest to film a rare bear, diverting his attention from the task at hand. On another front, Joel finds himself annoyed when Maggie steps in to lead the childbirth class he had been dismissive of, only to excel and win over the attendees.
