As spring arrives in Cicely, Holling takes a job on a farm to pull a plow, driven by his desire to plant seeds. Meanwhile, Maggie heroically saves Dave's life, and a tape from Mike prompts the townsfolk to speculate about her potential healing abilities. In a different turn of events, Maurice acquires a pig intended for truffle hunting for the upcoming Mosquito Festival, though it risks becoming dinner at a luau instead. Amidst all this, Holling injures his back, and Shelly discovers she is expecting a baby.
