Episode Overview

The oldest tree in town is on its last legs. One morning, Shelly discovers she can’t speak but can sing beautifully. The townsfolk turn to Joel for help with Old Vicki’s condition. Meanwhile, Chris breaks free from the limitations of the broadcast booth. Shelly's constant singing begins to irritate Holling. In an effort to be kind, Maggie's interactions with Joel lead to him suffering more injuries. Maurice is determined to chop down the tree, causing Shelly to fret over the possibility of losing her voice permanently. After Old Vicki is cut down, the town holds a wake, and Maurice feels guilty about the tree's demise. Maggie and Joel strike a deal aimed at keeping him safe from harm.
