In October 1956, Freddie marks his birthday amidst the lingering impact of Tom's passing on the newsroom. Though officially attributed to a heart attack, the frequent visits from MI6 suggest that Freddie, in particular, is under scrutiny. Seeking answers, Freddie visits Tom's widow, Jane, and discovers she was the one behind the camera for Ruth's film, leading him to suspect she possesses crucial information. Meanwhile, Isaac is optimistic that his new concept for the program could help him connect more deeply with Sissy.
