Episode Overview

Father Hugh Riorden, a close friend of Dr. Welby, struggles with intense asthma attacks stemming from his feelings of helplessness in addressing the issues faced by his parishioners. His emotional turmoil peaks when he fails to rekindle the hope in a young man who has suffered a serious accident. However, Dr. Welby manages to inspire the young man to fight for his life. Overwhelmed by his struggles, Father Hugh tells Dr. Welby that he has decided to leave the priesthood behind.
