In 1992, 22-year-old Dawn Bruce was horrifically raped and killed in her home in Virginia. The perpetrator left scant evidence behind, but investigators discovered a blood smear on a pillowcase that seemed to have been created by a finger from the assailant. Thanks to advancements in technology, they were able to extract a fingerprint from the blood-soaked fabric.
