Virgil is thrilled to receive a visit from his old partner Matthew, who arrives from Philadelphia. However, he quickly discovers that Matthew has ulterior motives for his trip to Sparta. Althea feels uneasy, as she shares a romantic history with Matthew prior to her relationship with Virgil, and she senses his struggle to accept her choice of Virgil over him. Simultaneously, the FBI seeks assistance from the Sparta Police Department to protect a key witness in a case, adding another layer of tension to the unfolding drama.
