Last Exile (2003)

Episode Overview

The competition is fierce as Claus and Lavi dive into a race they've participated in many times before. However, this occasion feels unique. Their goal is to finish strong, and they nearly secure first place when they're suddenly struck by a rogue vanship carrying mysterious "cargo." To their surprise, the cargo turns out to be a young girl. Claus decides to take on the responsibility of protecting her, but Ralph warns him to keep the engine off to avoid detection by those pursuing the girl. As Claus and Lavi make their escape, an enemy vanship closes in, forcing Ralph to make a heartbreaking sacrifice to ensure their safety.
