Episode Overview

Ash is thrilled when he catches a Caterpie, marking his very first Pokémon capture! However, Misty isn't impressed; she finds Bug-types unappealing and is put off by Caterpie's efforts to befriend her. Later that night, while Ash and Misty are asleep, Caterpie confides in Pikachu about its aspiration to evolve into a Butterfree one day.
