Episode Overview
While traveling to Vermillion City, Ash encounters AJ, a Gym Leader who runs an unofficial Gym and boasts an impressive record of 98 victories with no defeats. Curious to test his skills, Ash challenges AJ to a battle. He soon realizes that AJ's Ground-type Sandshrew has a significant advantage over his Flying-type Pokémon, catching him off guard with its prowess.
