However, as Ash moves closer, the figure vanishes. The next day, the Wallace Cup's second round commences, showcasing May's Venusaur and featuring a brief appearance by her Skitty in battle. Dawn, May, and Zoey advance to the semi-finals, while Ash faces defeat against a formidable coordinator named Kyle. In the semi-finals, Dawn pits her Piplup against Kyle's Crawdaunt. Familiar faces like Norman, Caroline, Max, Kenny, and Paul make cameo appearances.
