Episode Overview

After Ash's triumph over Gym Leader Candice at the Snowpoint City Gym, his rival Paul unexpectedly shows up, eager to battle Candice himself. However, he learns that he’ll need to wait until the next day. Just then, Paul's brother Reggie makes an entrance, alongside none other than Brandon, the Kanto Frontier Brain from the Battle Pyramid. Remembering that Reggie’s only unsuccessful challenge in his Trainer career was against Brandon, Paul seizes the moment and challenges Brandon right then and there, determined to defeat him and prove his strength.
