Episode Overview
As the group approaches Opelucid City, eager for Ash to take on the Gym Leader and earn his final badge, they discover that the Gym is unexpectedly closed. During a stop in Stonesthrow Town, Cilan encounters young Marigold, who is excited to choose her first Pokémon. He offers her his expertise as a Pokémon Connoisseur, but another A-Class Connoisseur, Ricard Nouveau, steps in to showcase his own skills. This sparks a battle between Cilan and Ricard to prove who is the superior Connoisseur. Meanwhile, an S-Class Connoisseur named Fauxgundy observes them, feeling a sense of familiarity.
