Episode Overview
After Team Rocket's botched attempt to capture Pikachu, the little electric Pokémon falls gravely ill. With no Pokémon Center available in Littleroot Town, Ash seeks assistance from Professor Birch. The professor believes he can help Pikachu, but first, they need to find him. Feverish and disoriented, Pikachu has fled into the nearby forest. At the same time, a girl named May is on her way to meet Professor Birch to get her first Pokémon. She arrives just in time to rescue the professor from a swarm of angry Poochyena. Before he can explain, Birch rushes off to locate the ailing Pikachu. As time ticks away and Pikachu's condition worsens, an unexpected twist sees Team Rocket's latest gadget inadvertently come to the rescue.
