Episode Overview

Upon arriving in Lavaridge Town, Ash and his friends encounter Flannery, the new Gym Leader who has recently taken over from her grandfather. Eager to showcase her skills, she shares Ash's enthusiasm for a battle, but the Gym's arena is riddled with holes, making it unusable. Determined to assist, the group works diligently to repair the battlefield. Meanwhile, Team Rocket lurks nearby, plotting to steal one of Flannery's Pokémon—a Torkoal—to deliver to their boss.
