Episode Overview

Ash and his friends arrive back in Mauville City, where they find a carnival hosted by Team Rocket. They release their Pokémon to have fun at the event, but Team Rocket attempts to capture them. Wattson and his sidekick Watt come to the rescue, and during the skirmish, Wattson's Electrike evolves into a Manectric. The group then heads to the Mauville Gym for some practice battles. In the first match, May’s Skitty competes against Watt’s Ampharos, emerging victorious with a clever use of Assist, combining Quick Attack and Double Slap. Meanwhile, Team Rocket gets caught in Wattson's upgraded gym traps and mistakenly encounters a set of robotic Raikou, thinking they are the real deal. In the second battle, Ash's Torkoal goes up against Wattson's Manectric. Torkoal overuses Overheat, leading to its defeat as Manectric strikes back with a Charge and Thunder Wave combo. Afterward
