Episode Overview
May's Combusken successfully gains control over the Fire Spin attack it unleashed. By a stroke of luck, she advances to the next round to face Kelly and then goes on to battle Josaphine. In the final showdown, May faces off against Kelly, employing a clever strategy to counter Grumpig's psychic abilities. Just as both Grumpig and Combusken seem on the verge of defeat, May makes a noble gesture. Meanwhile, Ash skips the contest to assist his Swellow in mastering Aerial Ace.
