As the haze lifts from the Terracotta Town Pokémon Contest, it’s revealed that May and Ash have both clinched victory, resulting in a tie! With only one prize medal at stake, Sceptile cleverly slices it in half. Later that evening, during dinner, May shares her plans to head to Johto to participate in more Pokémon Contests. She expresses her desire to go alone, not wanting to rely on Max too heavily. Although Max feels down about this, Ash lifts his spirits with a promise to battle him someday.
