The team is on the hunt for Chris Manning, a compassionate family court judge who has vanished after a meeting with a young boy caught in a conflict between his abusive father and mother. At first, they investigate those who might have been angered by Manning's judicial decisions. However, when his clerk is shot in what seems to be an assassination attempt on Manning, the team uncovers that the mystery of his disappearance is linked to a long-buried incident from over two decades ago.
