Pa Jutes and his sons have taken Lily Merrill and a young newsboy captive in the marshal's office, waiting for the 9:05 train to North Platte. Onboard is another of Pa's sons, being escorted to face the law by a different sheriff. Pa intends to make a swap for his boy.
