Hugh visits the stunning Somerset Levels to experience one of nature's most magnificent sights: vast winter flocks of starlings performing aerial displays as they settle in for the night. The reedbeds, formed from former peat quarries, have been transformed into a sanctuary for these birds, thanks to the hard work of passionate volunteers. This area has become a safe haven for elusive species like the bittern and the majestic great white egret.
