Chip and Joanna Gaines are on a mission to assist Dr. Marla Hendricks in finding the ideal home in Waco for her and her new husband. This vibrant couple, who discovered love later in life, are looking for a place that matches their energetic lifestyle. Marla, a veterinarian and ultra runner, desires a location near Cameron Park, a haven for outdoor lovers and a perfect spot for her pets. After spending some time in California, she’s returning to Waco to join her husband David, a passionate mountain biker and businessman, who will join her in a month. Marla, along with her sister Gail and the Gaines, is eager to locate a charming fixer-upper, but Chip and Jo feel some apprehension about David's absence, especially since his work involves a critical eye on Magnolia. How will David react when he sees the renovated home for the first time?
