Episode Overview

In 2002, Trent Woslum, a sergeant in the California National Guard, surprised his family with their first fixer-upper home as a Christmas gift. However, by Valentine's Day, he found himself deployed to Iraq, leaving behind his wife Dawna and their three sons—12-year-old Steven, 7-year-old Nicholas, and 5-year-old Alex. Unbeknownst to them, while the house was being renovated, Trent returned from his tour of duty. At the same time, Dawna and the boys were enjoying a week-long vacation at Disneyland, completely unaware of his unexpected return.
