What began as a lovely summer evening for Colleen Nick and her children took a devastating turn that would forever affect their family and the entire community. They had traveled to Alma, Arkansas, to cheer on a friend’s son at a little league game in a newly built ballpark. After a few innings, six-year-old Morgan grew restless and asked her mother if she could go catch fireflies with her friends. Colleen recalls how joyful Morgan appeared as she ran off, but that was the last moment she saw her daughter before Morgan mysteriously disappeared. A large-scale manhunt was launched, plunging Colleen into every parent’s worst nightmare. Residing just 30 minutes away from Alma, Colleen was advised to stay close to the site of the disappearance. She ended up living temporarily at a fire station before eventually purchasing the only affordable house in Alma, determined to do whatever it took to find Morgan.
