Dr. Todd informs Cathy that her application for the clinical trial has been unsuccessful. Meanwhile, Sean arranges a date for Marlene. During a party, Adam and Andrea clash, leading to a heated argument. Cathy and Lenny decide to take ecstasy together, but their moment is interrupted when Paul discovers them in an intimate moment. Later, at a dinner honoring his promotion, Paul overindulges in alcohol, resulting in Adam having to drive them home. In a moment of clarity, Paul reveals to Cathy that he wishes to end their marriage.
