Nestled within the Chambal ravines and shielded for ages by thick forests lies an ancient temple town. Known as Bateshwar, after the Lord of the Elements, Shiva, this remarkable site boasts the highest concentration of temples in India, with around 200 and still growing. KK Muhammed, a distinguished officer of the ASI, has established new benchmarks in restoring and recovering nearly half of these temples. However, many secrets about the town's rich history and architectural details remain elusive, even to the sharpest intellects, as its enchanting legacy gradually reawakens.
