Bud's brother, who has a history of underachievement, faces serious allegations after a training exercise that almost resulted in the deaths of 15 Marines. Proving his innocence becomes a challenging endeavor due to the longstanding rivalry between the Navy and the Marines. Meanwhile, Adm. Chegwidden is anxious about delivering a speech for an upcoming award ceremony. In a surprising turn of events, Mic Brumby returns to the States and shocks Mac and the others by revealing he has resigned from his Royal Australian Navy commission to be with the woman he loves in America.
