Episode Overview
The episode opens with a brief recap from the previous season: Bud and PO Coates are walking down a dirt road heading to the groundbreaking ceremony for the new school when they notice a young boy playing in a mine-laden field. As Coates rushes off to get help, an explosion erupts behind her. She turns just in time to see Bud caught in the blast and quickly rushes to his side. Coates insists that Bud needs to be airlifted on the helicopter they arrived in, as he can't wait for a proper medevac. Bud is taken to a field hospital in critical condition but still alive. Coincidentally, ZNN reporter Stuart Dunston is at the base camp when Bud arrives. He reports on the injured JAG officer brought in but omits Bud's name. Meanwhile, Chegwidden advises Harriet, reminding her he’s still on the Seahawk. She attempts to reach him via instant message but gets no response.
