Lea Tsemel, a Jewish lawyer in Israel, has spent the last five decades boldly defending Palestinians accused of resisting the occupation, whether through violent or non-violent means. Taking on challenging cases, including those involving terrorism charges, she faces significant opposition. While many Israelis view her as defending the indefensible, Palestinians see her as a vital advocate. This documentary chronicles Tsemel’s work, particularly focusing on the notable case of 13-year-old Ahmed, her youngest client, who is charged with attempted murder following a stabbing incident led by his 15-year-old cousin, who was shot by police. Ahmed relies on Lea to demonstrate that he had no intention to kill, as he seeks to avoid a lengthy sentence in an adult prison.
