On August 6, 1961, Sam, a pitcher for a minor league baseball team, faces a challenging choice. He must weigh whether to support a teammate in need, assist his host in making a comeback to the major leagues, or take care of the team's pig mascot. Meanwhile, he navigates the romantic interests of the women around him, all while trying to keep his focus on the game.
