In "Revolutionary Bites," Pati travels to Casas Grandes to explore the traditional preserved foods, known as “conservas,” that nourished individuals during the Mexican Revolution. There, she encounters the Acosta family, who have resided at the historic Hacienda de San Diego for generations. This site notably served as Mexico’s “White House” for a day following the battle of Casas Grandes. Pati learns from Diana Acosta and her mother, Sara Ramírez, who continue the age-old practice of food preservation that has been handed down since the wartime era.
